Bread Dipping Oil

Created by Kim in the nourish + flex kitchen

Usually, I only eat this when I’m at a restaurant, but there’s no reason why you can’t make this at home. Make sure to invest in quality spices. They are a little pricier, but they don’t have cheap fillers. The flavors are more robust and your recipes will taste better.

I’ve also been seeing a lot of discussion about the origin of your olive oil. If it has multiple countries listed on the label, then you may want to skip it and look for a bottle that is from a single source. Dark glass bottles are better quality and should be labeled as “extra virgin.” I’m working on a homemade gluten-free bread recipe, so stayed tuned for that.

Ingredients: (serves 4)

 ½ tsp red pepper flakes

½ tsp Italian seasoning

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

¼ tsp black pepper

¼ tsp salt

1 clove garlic minced

A few shakes of dried thyme

1 cup quality olive oil (glass bottle, Italy, Greece, or Spain)

*Place seasonings and garlic in a small bowl and mix

*Pour ¼ cup of olive oil on each saucer and add the seasonings to it.

*Pairs well with crusty bread.

Experiment with other spices and create your own recipe. Let me know how it turns out! Check out my other gluten-free recipes.
